After flying high against Harbor Beach  last Thursday, Sandusky came back down to earth. The Sandusky Wolves fell just short of the Hill-McCloy Rams by a score of  5-4 on Saturday.
 For Hill-McCloy's part,  Lainey Cannon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 13 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). Cannon has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Cannon was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Mya Wiggins and  Aubree Emmendorfer did most of the damage at the plate:  Wiggins  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double, while  Emmendorfer  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hill-McCloy, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7-1.
 Sandusky is on the road again  on Monday to play Capac at 4:00  p.m. As for Hill-McCloy, they will challenge Hillman at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Hillman knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Hill-McCloy likes a good challenge.
