In what's become a running theme this season, the Covenant Christian Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Legacy Christian Academy 64-20 at home. With Covenant Christian ahead 41-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Covenant Christian had a senior duo take command as Keeley Chaddick dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 assists, and 12 steals and Alani Owens scored 22 points along with six assists and six steals. That's the first time this season that Chaddick posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Hahn, who scored nine points along with three blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Covenant Christian and bumps their season record up to 13-11. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will face off against Chinquapin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against St. Joseph Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. St. Joseph Catholic's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Legacy Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
