Football Recap: Upland Piles Up the Points Against San Dimas

Upland extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 9-1. They took their match with ease, bagging a 47-14 victory over the San Dimas Saints. The Highlanders/Scots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Upland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Faith Garibay and Leah Davis. Garibay also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for San Dimas, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-3. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Upland is ranked 12th).

Despite the loss, San Dimas still got an impressive performance from Leiani Jaime, who rushed for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries.

Looking ahead, Upland will take on Western Christian at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. The Fighting Lancers' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Highlanders/Scots' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for San Dimas, they have already played their next game, a 19-6 win against Bonita on the 27th.
