The Manteo Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 87-56 loss at the hands of Pasquotank County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Manteo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Granitzki. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 51.8% of Manteo's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Williams, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Jamari Seymore had an outrageously good game for Pasquotank County as he scored 32 points along with two steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Seymore posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Brandon Smith, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Manteo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Pasquotank County, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Manteo will head out on the road to square off against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pasquotank County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against First Flight at 7:30 p.m.
