It was a good run, but the Gilbert Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 55-40 bruising from Desert Vista. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gilbert in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now lost four in a row.
Gilbert lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aspen McClees, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Caia Campbell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Leading Desert Vista to victory were Shay Ijiwoye and Aniyah Riddell. Ijiwoye scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Riddell scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Riddell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eanae Dagons, who scored four points along with two steals.
Gilbert's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-4. As for Desert Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
