The Crisp Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Twiggs Academy Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crisp Academy will be strutting in after a win while Twiggs Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Crisp Academy made easy work of Central Georgia Arts and carried off a 54-34 victory.
Crisp Academy relied on the efforts of Reese Reed, who scored 17 points along with 5 assists, and Tucker Ellenberg, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 23 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Reed has scored at least 25% of Crisp Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Handley, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, Twiggs Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by St. George's at home and fell 60-24.
Twiggs Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Josh Nobles, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Nobles' third in a row with at least ten points.
The win got Crisp Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Twiggs Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Crisp Academy came up short against Twiggs Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 68-60. Can Crisp Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
