The Skyline Eagles will challenge the Huron River Rats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Skyline will be strutting in after a victory while Huron will be coming in after a defeat.
Skyline is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Jackson with a sharp 16-1 win on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Piper Ayotte was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Ayotte was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camryn Murray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Penelope Shefferly was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with six stolen bases and two runs.
Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .870. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Huron unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 21-9 to Whitmore Lake.
Mya Stewart was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Hirschman, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Huron, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Skyline has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Huron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Skyline skirted past Huron 11-10 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the River Rats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
