Despite the defeat, McClave saw an underclassman step up: Abrielle Gomez scored 25 points along with four steals. Gomez hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Melgoza, who scored six points along with two steals.
South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for McClave, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-1.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 36.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for McClave, though, as they've only nailed 34.8% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
