Despite the  defeat, South Newton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Lyle Harrington threw for 233 yards and three  touchdowns, and also punched in one  score on the ground. Harrington's passing game has become a key predictor of the Rebels' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

  Ezra Church was nothing short of spectacular for Faith Christian: he picked up 99 receiving yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 38 yards and one  touchdown. Those  99  receiving yards gave  Church a new career-high.
South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Faith Christian, their victory  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-6.
 South Newton has already played their next contest,  a  49-0  defeat against Frontier on the 17th. As for Faith Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  48-8  loss against Greenwood Christian Academy on the 17th.
