Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Williams' Third in Last Four Outings

Western Alamance came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Williams, but Colby Elliot wouldn't allow it. The Williams Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Western Alamance Warriors 51-49 with plenty of help from Elliot, who posted 22 points. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points.

Despite the loss, Western Alamance still got an impressive performance from Hamilton Plunkett, who on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Plunkett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Huffman, who scored eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Williams is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. Western Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Williams wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-59 defeat against Eastern Alamance on the 18th. As for Western Alamance, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-45 loss against Southern Lee on the 25th.
