Eastern View's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to King George on Tuesday. The Cyclones' pitcher stepped up to hand the Courtland Cougars a 3-0 shutout. The three-run effort marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Cailin Rendell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Kierstyn Harris was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Hopper, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
