The Gateway Olympians will venture away from home to take on the Adams City Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
Gateway is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Westminster just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 10-9.

Mervin Loya made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Petersen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Meanwhile, Adams City entered their game against Skyview on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles came up short against the Wolverines, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 2, 2024.
Miguel Rodriguez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mauro Acosta, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Nathan Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Adams City's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Adams City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gateway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. It's a different story for Adams City, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Gateway's hitters?
Gateway might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Adams City when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Olympians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
