Chisholm Trail is 0-6 against North Crowley since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chisholm Trail Rangers will head out on the road to square off against the North Crowley Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Chisholm Trail strolled past Paschal with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. Given Chisholm Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Paschal is ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chisholm Trail relied on the efforts of Javon Smith, who scored 13 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, and Kaden Richardson, who scored 17 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Smith posted eight or more assists. Archange Mutombo was another key contributor, scoring two points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, North Crowley put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Bell as North Crowley made off with a 76-51 win. The victory was familiar territory for North Crowley who now have four in a row.
Chisholm Trail has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for North Crowley, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-3.
Chisholm Trail came up short against North Crowley when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 48-40. Can Chisholm Trail avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
