The Wahama White Falcons will face off against the Meigs Marauders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Meigs will be up against a hot Wahama squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. Wahama never let Webster County get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Saturday. That looming 21-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the White Falcons yet this season.
Nixey Davis looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Wahama got a massive performance out of Audrey Reynolds, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Reynolds has posted since back in April of 2024. Fiona VanMatre was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Wahama always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Meigs made easy work of Rock Hill on Monday and carried off a 15-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.
Aubrey Newell was a standout: she scored four runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Roush, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Wahama pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Meigs, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wahama has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .548. However, it's not like Meigs struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wahama was able to grind out a solid victory over Meigs in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 14-10. Will Wahama repeat their success, or does Meigs has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
