Fort Bend Clements is 2-8 against Fort Bend Bush since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fort Bend Clements Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Bend Bush Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Fort Bend Clements will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Even though Fort Bend Clements has not done well against Ridge Point recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Fort Bend Clements skirted past Ridge Point 63-60. Given Fort Bend Clements' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Ridge Point is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Bend Clements relied on the efforts of Divine Ugochukwu, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds, and Aziz Olajuwon, who scored 27 points. Olajuwon also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Mathews, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, even though George Ranch scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Fort Bend Bush still came out on top. Fort Bend Bush snuck past George Ranch with a 66-62 win. The win was nothing new for Fort Bend Bush as they're now sitting on five straight.
Fort Bend Clements' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Fort Bend Bush, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Fort Bend Clements beat Fort Bend Bush 53-45 in their previous meeting back in February. Does Fort Bend Clements have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Bend Bush turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
