After losing to Harlingen the last time they met, Los Fresnos decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Los Fresnos Falcons secured a 76-70 W over the Harlingen Cardinals on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Los Fresnos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gio Galvan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards. Galvan is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Eric Salazar, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points.
Harlingen's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luis Rodriguez, who posted 25 points, and Marcus Gutierrez, who scored 17 points. Rodriguez's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Alex Hernandez was another key player, putting up seven points.
Los Fresnos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Harlingen, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-5.
Los Fresnos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-57 victory against Hanna on the 17th. Harlingen has also already played their next contest, a 68-37 win against San Benito on the 17th.
