Vicksburg has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Neshoba Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Vicksburg faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Vicksburg strolled past Columbus with points to spare, taking the game 61-47. That's two games straight that Vicksburg has won by exactly 14 points.
Neshoba Central posted their closest win since November 11, 2023 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Ridgeland out 73-70.
Vicksburg pushed their record up to 18-4 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Neshoba Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Vicksburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Neshoba Central when the teams last played on January 9th, sneaking past 67-64. Does Vicksburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Neshoba Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
