The Manheim Township Blue Streaks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over Wilson. Given Manheim Township's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked third, while Wilson is ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hayden Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 275 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Declan Clancy, who gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Wilson had strong showings from Madyx Gruber, who picked up 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Tommy Hunsicker, who threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes.
Manheim Township's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Wilson, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Manheim Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wilson will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Cumberland Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Cumberland Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
