The Homefires Flames had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Calvary Baptist Christian Academy with a 42-38 victory on Saturday. The win was just what Homefires needed coming off of a 82-49 defeat in their prior game.
Homefires' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colin Chesnut led the charge by scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Chesnut is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Rademacher, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Homefires' win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Homefires on the road again on Saturday and play against First Baptist Academy at 9:30 a.m. on January 13th. First Baptist Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Calvary Baptist Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
