The Coconino Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Lee Williams Volunteers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coconino focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Coconino earned a 47-40 victory over Mingus. The win was just what Coconino needed coming off of a 69-28 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coconino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madisyn Paddock, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aviana Scharfenberger, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lee Williams came up short against Bradshaw Mountain on Tuesday and fell 41-34.
Coconino pushed their record up to 9-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Lee Williams, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Everything went Coconino's way against Lee Williams in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Coconino made off with a 49-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coconino since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
