While the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers couldn't quite beat the Potomac Wolverines on Thursday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point loss they were dealt last Tuesday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North fell just short of Potomac by a score of 78-76. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devin Thomas, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Thomas is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Foncham Ambe, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Potomac, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches. As for Potomac, they will head out on the road to take on Gwynn Park at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Gwynn Park will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
