The team's defense also tried their best in the loss by holding Ashe County to a paltry 241 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to South Caldwell's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Bryson Shook and his two sacks.
Luke Peterson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
