The Sheridan Blackhawks lost against the Covenant Christian Warriors back in February of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sheridan fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 53-50. Sheridan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Sheridan saw an underclassman step up: Trey Page scored 23 points along with two steals. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trent Decrane, who scored 12 points.
Sheridan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Covenant Christian was led to victory by Mark Crane and Nathan Crane. Crane scored 14 points, while Crane scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Crane is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Nef Farrell, who scored nine points.
Sheridan's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Covenant Christian, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Sheridan will head out on the road to face off against the Achaeans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Herron is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Covenant Christian will take on the Techies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Purdue Polytechnic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Indiana (the Techies are ranked 78th, while the Warriors are ranked 215th).
