Sulphur Bluff put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Union Hill with a sharp 66-43 win. Sulphur Bluff pushed the score to 60-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Union Hill cut but never quite recovered from.
Clint Degen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. It was the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Matthew Overly, who scored 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Saltillo earned a 48-37 win over Union Hill on Friday.
Sulphur Bluff's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Saltillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 20-15 record this season.
Sulphur Bluff came up short against Saltillo in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-49. Can Sulphur Bluff avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
