After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greer Middle College, the Chesnee Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Liberty 80-51 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chesnee also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Chesnee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Wease out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brady Poole, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Liberty lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendall Jackson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Dawson Owen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Chesnee now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Liberty, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesnee will face off against the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
