The Elba Bluejays were the 44-42 winner over the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Elba was beaten by the Red Hornets 65-28 on Tuesday. Elba was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.
Elba's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Addison Wysocki, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, and JarahLynn Morrow who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Wysocki is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heartland Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brielle Saddler, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Francl, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Elba has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Heartland Lutheran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elba will take on the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heartland Lutheran, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmer is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
