Last Friday, Golden Sierra earned a 52-44 win over Highlands. That looming 52-44 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Golden Sierra yet this season.
Patrick Bingham was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 22 points, 29 rebounds, and nine blocks. Bingham is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was William Drescher, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
San Juan suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 48-28 defeat to Esparto might stick with them for a while.
Golden Sierra's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Golden Sierra and San Juan were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but Golden Sierra came up empty-handed after a 46-45 defeat. Can Golden Sierra avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
