On Sunday, North Olmsted was able to grind out a solid victory over Cloverleaf, taking the game 46-35.
North Olmsted's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mia Donald led the charge by scoring 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelley Gray, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Cloverleaf's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Evie Barth, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Barth scored a full 45.7% of Cloverleaf's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kayla Shook was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win got North Olmsted back to even at 1-1. As for Cloverleaf, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
North Olmsted will be playing at home against Holy Name at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cloverleaf, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestwood at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
