Basketball Game Preview: Mullins Auctioneers vs. Kingstree Blazers

Mullins is 10-0 against Kingstree since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mullins Auctioneers will host the Kingstree Blazers at 7:30 p.m. Mullins is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.

Mullins is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing East Clarendon: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Mullins blew East Clarendon out of the water with a 66-32 final score. With the Auctioneers ahead 35-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Mullins found their leader in sophomore Dakarai Worley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Worley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. Deyon Ford was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Mullins smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 29 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Kingstree was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 51-40 to Marion. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked 100th).

Mullins' win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Kingstree, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Everything came up roses for Mullins against Kingstree in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 67-28 victory. Will Mullins repeat their success, or does Kingstree have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
