The Booneville Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Tanner Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Booneville sitting on three straight victories and Tanner on seven.
Last Friday, Booneville never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over Alcorn Central on the road. The result was nothing new for Booneville, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Booneville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Gillon out in front who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Zion Nunn also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Tanner put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Red Bay for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-14 win at home. Tanner pushed the score to 34-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Red Bay had little chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tanner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tailin Hall, who rushed for 94 yards on only nine carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Karl Parham was another key contributor, throwing for 209 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Booneville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Tanner, their victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
