After five games on the road, Omaha North is heading back home. They will take on the Buena Vista Bison at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Omaha North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 693 points over their last ten matchups.
Omaha North can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Omaha South 76-45 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-15.
Mynor Strong was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jerri'on Williams was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, sadly, Buena Vista is still looking for their first win of the season after 16 matchups. They had to suffer through a rough 68-29 loss at the hands of Norfolk. Buena Vista found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 13 to 5 on offense.
Despite the defeat, Buena Vista had strong showings from Mogtaba Mohamed, who scored 16 points, and Eli Smith, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Omaha North's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Omaha North have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 48% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Buena Vista, though, as they've only made 28.1% of their threes this season. Given Omaha North's sizable advantage in that area, Buena Vista will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Omaha North against Buena Vista in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 94-20 win. With Omaha North ahead 57-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
