Cassidy Townsley and Mackenzie Coffman did most of the damage at the plate: Townsley went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Coffman went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Townsley is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Laela Sanares, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain House kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-1 to Galt. Titans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Warriors since Friday.
Chavez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natheya Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mountain House, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Mountain House's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Chavez, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Mountain House continue to outrun the ball?
