Kuna is 0-5 against Rocky Mountain since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kuna Kavemen will head out on the road to face off against the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Kuna faced Boise in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kuna skirted past Boise 47-44.
Austin Lattimer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 308 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Lattimer was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Luke Selto was another key contributor, rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Kuna's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Kody Biggs and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain really took it to Timberline for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-10 victory on the road. Given Rocky Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Timberline is ranked 41st), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Kuna to 4-4 and Rocky Mountain to 5-3.
Kuna was taken down by Rocky Mountain 51-10 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Kuna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
