Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for South Fork

South Fork had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Pierce on Friday. The South Fork Cubs were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over the Pierce Bears. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

South Fork let Molly Perkins and Calleigh Smith run wild. Perkins scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Smith went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Young, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

South Fork lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win (which was South Fork's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Pierce, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

South Fork didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Live Oak on the 8th. As for Pierce, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-2 loss against Lindhurst on the 8th.
