Valliant has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Valliant Bulldogs and the Wright City Lumberjax will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Valliant scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Smithville, posting a 84-29 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Valliant has managed all season.
Wright City posted their biggest win since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Fort Towson 74-37 at home. Given Wright City's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Fort Towson is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wright City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Conner Green led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Vance, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Valliant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Wright City, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
Valliant strolled past Wright City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 64-45. Will Valliant repeat their success, or does Wright City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
