The Erath Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Crowley Gent at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Erath is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Erath came up short against the Pirates and fell 54-41.
Meanwhile, Crowley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Abbeville on the road and fell 90-26. While losing is never fun, Crowley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Wildcats are ranked 131st).
Crowley might have lost, but man, Alaysia Arvie was a machine: she scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 80.8% of Crowley's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Erath has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Crowley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for Erath against the Gent in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 48-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Erath since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
