On Tuesday, the Rock Canyon Jaguars faced the Cherry Creek Bruins in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rock Canyon walked away with a 58-50 victory over Cherry Creek. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rock Canyon.
Rock Canyon was led to victory by Macoy Terry and Kasen Lehman. Terry scored 14 points along with seven assists, while Lehman scored 19 points along with three steals. The match was Terry's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Nolan Kliewer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Rock Canyon pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Cherry Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Rock Canyon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Overland at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Cherry Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grandview at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grandview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Cherry Creek is ranked 19th).
