The C. Milton Wright Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Edgewood Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. C. Milton Wright will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
C. Milton Wright is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Elkton with a sharp 21-5 victory on Tuesday.
Madalyn Hoskins made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hoskins was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, C. Milton Wright got a massive performance out of Kendra Miller, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Miller has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Julianna McJilton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
C. Milton Wright was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edgewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Aberdeen a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Rams have beaten the Eagles the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.
Like C. Milton Wright, Edgewood also got a great game from a two-way player: Valeria Gutierrez. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Gutierrez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Edgewood let Audriana Hansen and Oliva Nerad run wild. Hansen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Nerad scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That run marked the first that Hansen scored this season. Sofia Ortiz was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
C. Milton Wright is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Edgewood, their record is now 2-5.
Edgewood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: C. Milton Wright hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. It's a different story for Edgewood, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain C. Milton Wright's hitters?
C. Milton Wright couldn't quite finish off Edgewood when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
