The Clarksdale Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Lafayette Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarksdale is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Clarksdale ended up a good deal behind Corinth and lost 71-53. While losing is never fun, Clarksdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Corinth is ranked 101st).
Meanwhile, Lafayette pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-63 to Pontotoc. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (56), Lafayette still had to take the loss.
Clarksdale bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lafayette, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
