If the Argonaut Mustangs were riding high off their 75-55 takedown of the Amador Buffaloes last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Argonaut fell 65-58 to Bret Harte on Tuesday. Argonaut was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bret Harte apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
When it comes to explaining why Argonaut lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mitchell Mcmahan. Despite the final result, he shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. Mcmahan hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Duran, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Argonaut dropped their record down to 10-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Bret Harte, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Argonaut will be playing at home against Sonora at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Sonora is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Bret Harte, they will head out on the road to take on Summerville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
