Basketball Recap: Chardon Skates Past Harvey with Ease

Chardon won the last time they faced Harvey and things went their way on Saturday too. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 56-19 stomp they got against the Harvey Red Raiders. The Hilltoppers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

Cameron Gerlica had a dynamite game for Chardon, putting up 13 points along with seven boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Selina Sparker, who posted eight points.

Chardon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Chardon is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39 points. As for Harvey, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Chardon and West Geauga will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harvey, they will challenge Jefferson Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
