Imagine Prep is 8-0 against the Eagles since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Imagine Prep Storm will be playing at home against the East Valley Athletes for Christ Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Imagine Prep will be looking to keep their 19-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Imagine Prep gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Skyline Prep on the road to the tune of 77-33. While fans of Imagine Prep might be used to big wins, the 44-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Imagine Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Richard Rodriguez led the charge by scoring 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brady Heuseveldt, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Valley Athletes for Christ's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-City Christian Academy.
Imagine Prep's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Imagine Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 56-46. Does Imagine Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
