Hays is 8-2 against Great Bend since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hays Indians will be playing at home against the Great Bend Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Hays strolled past Liberty with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hays.
In what's become a running theme this season, Great Bend gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-24 win over Thomas More Prep-Marian on the road. Given Great Bend's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Thomas More Prep-Marian is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hays is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Great Bend, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Hays didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Great Bend when the teams last played back in March of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win. Does Hays have another victory up their sleeve, or will Great Bend turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
