Bayfield has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Centauri recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Saturday. The Wolverines will welcome the Falcons  at 11:00  a.m. The  game will  give Bayfield their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Bayfield is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13  runs  two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Durango  last Saturday. They lost  9-2 to the Demons.  Drake Gallardo made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Centauri: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 1-6 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  Parker Buhr and  Warren Shelton did most of the damage at the plate:  Buhr  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while  Shelton  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Buhr is becoming a predictor of Centauri's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't). The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Bayfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Everything went Bayfield's way against Centauri in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, as Bayfield made off with  a  22-4 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success,  or do  the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
