The Forestview Jaguars can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 58-29 victory over Ashbrook on the road. Given Forestview's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Ashbrook is ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Amani Neely, who scored 14 points along with five assists and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tralyn Phillips, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Ashbrook still got an impressive performance from Arianna Mcdowell, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds. Mcdowell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played. Zakyiah Miller was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Forestview's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Ashbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Forestview will be playing in front of their home fans against Kings Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kings Mountain is coming into the matchup with ten straight defeats on the road, meaning Forestview will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Ashbrook, they will challenge North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashbrook is facing North Gaston at the right time seeing as North Gaston is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
