Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Leake Central). They enjoyed a cozy  52-35 victory over the Velma Jackson Falcons on Friday. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered  a  32-12  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Javario Daley was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 217 yards and a pair of  scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.  Israel Ross was another key back, rushing for 91 yards and two  touchdowns on only eight carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leake Central was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 427  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Despite the  loss, Velma Jackson had strong showings from  Trevon Willis, who rushed for 93 yards and three  TDs on only ten carries, and  Demontre Strange, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of  scores on only seven carries. Willis is  on a roll when it comes to  rushing touchdowns, as he's  now  punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's  played.
Leake Central's win was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-2. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.8 points this season. As for Velma Jackson, they now  have a losing record of 2-3.
