The Camelback Spartans waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 66-59 victory over Maryvale. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Camelback to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ilirian Demiri, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Aken Logan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devin Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Murphy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Stubbs, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Camelback is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Maryvale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.
Camelback and the Falcons will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carl Hayden Community knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully the Spartans like a good challenge. Maryvale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
