The Yazoo City Indians can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 54-24 victory over Greenville on the road. The success was a return to things as normal for Yazoo City, who in their previous outing suffered a shocking 49-38 upset defeat to the Tigers.
Despite the loss, Greenville still got an impressive performance from Gymanuel Wells, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Williams, who scored five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Greenville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Yazoo City's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Greenville, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Yazoo City will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holmes County Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Indians are ranked third). As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gentry is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
