Harrison and Greenbrier are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Goblins will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Harrison lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Vilonia, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Goblins really took it to the Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 31-0 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Goblins had established a 21-point advantage.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harrison's defense and their four sacks. Sky Lee was especially locked on to Vilonia's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pea Ridge 49-16. With the Panthers ahead 35-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Harrison better keep an eye on Enoch Assan. He was instrumental in Greenbrier's win, rushing for 214 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Assan's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 198 rushing yards. Jack Palmer was another key player, throwing for 225 yards and four TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Greenbrier was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.
The victory got Harrison back to even at 4-4. As for Greenbrier, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Harrison has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Greenbrier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Harrison couldn't quite get it done against Greenbrier in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 35-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Assan, who rushed for 218 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Now that the Goblins know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
