After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Shelby, The Centralia Panthers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They breezed by Macon at home to the tune of 42-0. The result was nothing new for Centralia, who have now won six matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.
Centralia was led to victory by Braedyn Decker and Jesse Caballero. Decker rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Caballero rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Decker's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Centralia's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Macon and 2-7 Mexico (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.7% over those games). As for Macon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Centralia will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. Hallsville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Macon, they will head out on the road to face off against Moberly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moberly presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Macon in Missouri (Moberly is ranked 99th, while Macon is ranked 275th).
